Wed, 11th July: PERTH TO TREE TOPS AND PEMBERTON REGION
We will depart from Perth at 7.45am and travel south through Donnybrook’s orchards stopping at Bridgetown for refreshments; then on through Western Australia’s old growth forest to climb the 51m tall Diamond Tree bush fire watchtower followed by a scenic picnic lunch (included). Next stop is The Truffle & Wine Company, Manjimup then onto the Valley of the Giants ‘Tree Top Walk’ which reaches 40 metres high into the forest Canopy. Afterwards we head northwest to Pemberton for check in at your overnight accommodation at The Forest Lodge Resort (4 star). Dinner is available in the town of Pemberton (not included). (L)
Thurs, 12th July: PEMBERTON REGION TO MARGARET RIVER WINE REGION
Early morning take a short stroll to the majestic Beedelup Falls and then we head North through the stunning Boranup Forest. Then west we arrive at Australia’s most South-Westerly point, Augusta, and visit 1890’s Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse where the Indian and Great Southern Oceans meet. After lunch at Lighthouse Café (included) we head out to Surfers Point Lookout to see some spectacular coastal views and then north to Mammoth Cave with self guided audio (included). Following this will be a late afternoon check in at your overnight accommodation, The Margaret River Hotel, allowing free time to experience and explore the local surroundings. Dinner (not included) is recommended at Settlers Tavern (opposite hotel) for pub meals & great atmosphere. (L)
Fri, 13th July: MARGARET RIVER TO PERTH
After breakfast at the Margaret River bakery, we enjoy some free time in the main township of Margaret River. Following shopping time, visit the Margaret River chocolate factory and Yahava Koffeeworks (time permitting) to taste some of their delicious samples and then sample some of the delicious locally produced wines at a Winery. Following lunch (included) at Bootleg Brewery head to Busselton, you’ll see the longest wooden jetty in the Southern Hemisphere before a leisurely drive back to Perth arriving early evening. (BL)
